VOCAL AUDIOMETRIC TEST
The vocal audiometric test allows evaluating the patient’s word comprehension level. It is a test, non-invasive or dangerous, often decisive for assessing the possibility and/or opportunity for the patient to use a hearing aid as it can highlight the presence of a problem, which can be of various origins, at the level of the transmission of the auditory message through the nerve pathways. The procedure helps to understand if the problem is present at the ear level or attributable to the nerve fibers through which the sound reaches the Central Nervous System. The test is conducted by having the patient repeat a list of words suggested through headphones while inside the soundproof booth.
This test may also require the execution of the tonal audiometric test.

Patient Preparation
Patients are advised to bring any previous vocal audiometric test results.
