Care Safety
Patient Safety is understood as: “A dimension of healthcare quality that ensures, through the identification, analysis, and management of risks and possible incidents for patients, the design and implementation of operational systems and processes that minimize the probability of error, potential risks, and consequent possible harm to patients” (Glossary of the Ministry of Health – 2006). Patient safety is one of the determining factors, therefore aiming for high-quality care is one of the priority objectives that Casa di Cura Piacenza sets. Only an integrated risk management (Incident Reporting) can lead to changes in clinical practice, promote the growth of a health culture more attentive and closer to patients and specialists, and is aimed at promoting the analysis of adverse events by gathering lessons learned from them and favoring the allocation of resources to interventions aimed at developing safe and efficient healthcare organizations and structures. Clinical risk management in healthcare (Clinical Risk Management) represents a set of various actions implemented to achieve an improvement in the quality of healthcare services and ensure the complete safety of patients based on learning from any mistakes made.
