SPEECH THERAPY SERVICE<\/h1><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The speech therapy<\/strong> deals with the prevention<\/strong> and treatment<\/strong> of issues related to language<\/strong>, communication<\/strong>, voice<\/strong>, and swallowing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At Casa di Cura Piacenza<\/strong>, the Speech Therapy Service<\/strong> supports the hard-of-hearing patient<\/b> undergoing cochlear implant<\/b><\/a> surgery in their auditory rehabilitation<\/b> journey within the Otological Group<\/b><\/a> team. <\/p>\n

Thanks to the <\/g>advanced medical equipment<\/g><\/g> and specialists in the <\/g>auditory field<\/g><\/g>, the <\/g>speech therapy evaluation<\/g><\/g> of auditory performance is conducted at each electrophysiological check-up of the cochlear implant, optimizing its performance.

Similarly, patients undergoing cranial base surgery can benefit from specialized evaluations through FEES<\/b> for dysphagia<\/b>, during which the speech therapist can evaluate, together with the ENT doctor, the rehabilitative<\/b> and compensatory interventions for the recovery of autonomous feeding.<\/p>\n

The Speech Therapy Service<\/b> is also available at Casa di Cura Sant\u2019Antonino<\/b> and is aimed at hospitalized patients<\/b> with issues related to dysphagia<\/b> and presbyphagia<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The evaluation is conducted at the patient’s bedside with the aim of early identification of the nutritional safety conditions the person needs.
The patient<\/b> with a nasogastric tube (NGT)<\/b> can benefit from the support of the entire medical and rehabilitative team during the weaning process.<\/p>\n
